Geotechnical Survey

Geotechnical survey is a combination of geological and engineering work carried out to provide the data needed for designing and constructing buildings and infrastructure.

During a geotechnical survey we:

  • Determine the geological structure and geotechnical conditions of the site (soil composition, layer sequence, soil bearing capacity parameters, presence of groundwater and its impact on foundations);
  • Identify potential risks prior to construction and provide indicative construction costs;
  • Recommend a technically suitable and economically justified type of foundations.

We offer geotechnical surveys prior to the construction of buildings and infrastructure, including:

  • New single-family houses;
  • Multi-storey buildings;
  • Building reconstruction and renovation projects;
  • Roads, streets and paved areas;
  • Towers;
  • Underground utility projects;
  • Military facilities

SIA "Geolite" offers the following geotechnical survey methods:

  • Borehole drilling (auger drilling and core drilling);
  • Static (CPT, CPTU) and dynamic probing (DPL, DPH, DPSH, SPT);
  • Sampling (disturbed and undisturbed samples);
  • Trial pits and inspection of existing building foundations;
  • Testing of collected samples in an accredited laboratory;
  • Plate load tests to verify the bearing capacity of road pavement structure layers;
  • Preparation of a geotechnical survey report and obtaining the necessary approvals.
